Who uses the term consent line?
Prept uses it for the confirmation its recorder asks for before every recording. Its privacy page says Prept asks you to confirm, every single time, that everyone on the call knows they are being recorded. The same page says "we cannot verify it," so the line stands on your word.
Why is the consent line asked before every recording?
Each call has different people on it, so a yes from last week's interviewer says nothing about today's. Asking every time puts the question in front of you while the interviewer can still say no. The rules by jurisdiction are in the guide to whether it is legal to record a job interview.
What does the spoken half sound like?
For example, the site's guide to asking to record your interview suggests one short question, asked after introductions and before the first interview question. It reads: "Would you mind if I record this so I can review my answers afterward? It stays with me." Wait for a clear yes, then confirm the line and start.
If the answer is no, you don't record. The page on what to do when the interviewer says no to recording covers that path.
