Summary
This is what most people want to know, in plain language:
- Voice recordings stay on your device. The audio of your practice sessions is transcribed locally and is never uploaded.
- No account required. Prept doesn't ask you to sign in. Your practice history and skill data are stored on your device.
- We collect the minimum needed to run the app: just the text transcripts used to generate your coaching feedback.
- We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers.
- You're in control. Deleting the app removes your practice data from your phone.

Data we collect
Practice content
When you record a response, your speech is transcribed on your device. The text transcript is sent to our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini API) to generate your feedback. Your skill scores, progress, and practice history are stored locally on your device.
Subscription status
Apple processes all payments. Your subscription state (active, expired, in trial) is managed on your device through Apple. We never receive your name, card number, or billing details.
Audio & transcripts
Voice is the core of Prept, so we treat it carefully.
- Audio is processed on your device. Speech-to-text runs locally using on-device transcription. The raw audio file does not leave your phone.
- Only the transcript is used for coaching. The text of what you said is sent (over an encrypted connection) to our coaching service so we can return structured feedback. The audio itself is never sent.
- Transcripts are short-lived. They are processed for your session and stored only long enough to render your feedback and history. You can delete them at any time.
- We do not use your transcripts to train third-party models.
How we use data
- To deliver coaching feedback: your text transcript is sent to the Gemini API to generate your response.
- To build your personalized training program based on your skill profile, stored on your device.
- To handle support requests when you contact us.
We don't use your data for advertising. We don't profile you for marketing.
Retention
Your practice history and skill data are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes this data from your phone. Transcripts sent to generate feedback are short-lived and are not retained after your feedback is produced.
Your rights
Because your practice data is stored on your device, you control it directly — deleting the app erases it. For any questions about your data, email us at info@saroshmirza.com.
Children
Prept is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date. For material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.

By downloading or using Prept, you agree to these terms.
Your account
Prept does not require an account to use. You're responsible for the device you use to access the app.
Subscriptions
Pro is a recurring subscription billed through your Apple ID. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are handled by Apple per their App Store policy.
Acceptable use
Don't try to break the app, scrape it, reverse-engineer it for a competing product, or use it for anything illegal. Don't impersonate someone else.
Content
The scenarios, frameworks, and coaching content in Prept are ours. You can use them inside the app to practice, but you can't redistribute them as your own product.
No guarantees of outcomes
Prept is a training tool. Practicing with Prept can make you sharper, but we can't guarantee any specific interview outcome, job offer, or promotion. That part is on you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Prept is provided as is, without warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
If we materially change these terms, we'll post the new version here and notify you in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
