info@saroshmirza.com →Open Prept after installing. The diagnostic is the first thing you see. It's one scenario, 60 seconds. You don't need an account to take it. After you finish, Prept shows your skill profile across the five communication dimensions.
No. Prept doesn't require an account at all — there's nothing to sign up for. Your progress and skill data are stored right on your device, and subscriptions are handled through your Apple ID.
Behavioral interview questions (e.g., "Tell me about a time…"), case-style work scenarios (project updates, pushback, promotion conversations), and role-specific scenarios that adapt to what you tell us about your role and the kind of conversations you want to get sharper at.
All Pro subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Prept and tap Cancel. You'll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Prept charge, and request a refund. If you have a complicated situation, email us and we'll help advocate where we can.
Your practice history and skill data are stored on your device, so deleting the app erases them. There's no account or server-side copy to clear. For any questions about your data, email info@saroshmirza.com.
Use the same Apple ID you subscribed with, then in Prept go to Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Note that practice history is stored on your device, so it stays on your old phone.
First, check microphone permission: Settings → Prept → Microphone. Make sure it's on. If it is, try restarting the app. If you're using Bluetooth headphones with a poor mic, switch to your phone's built-in mic for clearer transcription.
It stays on your device. Speech-to-text runs locally on your iPhone. Only the resulting text transcript is sent to our coaching service so we can give you feedback. The audio file itself is never uploaded. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Yes, and we recommend it. Wired or AirPods both work. Make sure your input source is set so Prept hears you cleanly.
The local transcription works best in a quiet room. If your transcript looks wrong, try moving somewhere quieter or use a headset mic. The coaching feedback is only as accurate as the transcript.
Scores reflect what was actually in your spoken response — not what you meant to say. The most common gap is that people undersell themselves out loud: they leave out the result, hedge their decisions, or skip the specifics. Read the coaching notes carefully and try the rewrite.
That's the point. The diagnostic is designed to surface gaps. A "Developing" band in Structure means restructuring is the highest-leverage thing you can practice next.
Yes. In fact, that's how reps work. Each retry is scored independently, and you'll see your latest scores update on your profile.
Pro users can describe a custom scenario (e.g., "I'm interviewing for a senior PM role at a fintech, and I want to practice a question about handling cross-functional disagreement") and Prept will generate a session around it.
If you've allowed iOS to share crash data with developers, we get the report automatically. To help us fix it faster, email info@saroshmirza.com with what you were doing when it happened, your iPhone model, and your iOS version.
Not in this version. Your practice history and skill data are stored on your device, so they stay on the phone where you practiced. Your Pro subscription is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on a new phone via Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases.
iPhone running iOS 17 or newer. Older versions of iOS aren't supported because we rely on the on-device speech model that ships with newer iOS releases.
Not yet. We're focused on doing one platform really well first.
Email info@saroshmirza.com. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, and what was happening when the issue showed up. The more specific you are, the faster we can fix it.
If you're emailing about an interview that's coming up soon, tell us in the subject line. We'll prioritize it.
