Who uses the term interview debrief?

Recruiters, hiring managers and interviewers use it for their decision meeting. Greenhouse, an applicant tracking system, calls that meeting a candidate roundup in its structured hiring guide. It says the meeting "can take 30 minutes to an hour" and that the team should "aim to come out of the meeting with a hiring decision."

Amazon's page on its Bar Raiser program says Bar Raisers "facilitate debrief conversations to ensure data-driven conversations." Candidates use the same word for a review of their own interview. Prept uses the term in that second sense: a review you run on yourself, after the call.

What does a candidate's interview debrief look like?

For example, after a 45-minute second round you write each question in the order it was asked. You mark the answer where the interviewer moved on early and check every figure you gave against your resume. You finish with one fix, written as the sentence you'll say next time.

Where can you read more about interview debriefs?

The full method, with seven steps and where it comes from, is in what an interview debrief is and how to run one. The interview debrief template explains each field, and the free 10-minute debrief template fits on one printable page.
