What is Final Round AI and what does it do?

Final Round AI sells one desktop app, Interview CoPilot, that does five jobs: live answers during a real interview, practice interviews, a written debrief, screen help and a Stealth Mode. Its homepage, checked October 24, 2026, says the app "listens to your live interview and delivers real-time answers in a private window only you can see."

The Final Round AI homepage frames the product as a loop it calls "Prepare. Perform. Review." You set up a Goal for each job, with your resume, the job description and your materials. Sessions, live or practice, attach to that Goal, and a debrief is written when each one ends.

The same page lists eight practice scenarios, including Behavioral, System Design, Product Case and Recruiter Screen. Those practice runs are the least risky part of the product. They happen before any employer is on the call. People searching "final round ai review / alternative" usually want to know about the live part, so that's where most of this page goes.

How do Final Round AI and Prept compare feature by feature?

The two products overlap on one thing, a written review of an interview, and split on everything else. Final Round AI is built around live help and practice. Prept works on the resume and the application, then on the interview after it ends. The table uses each product's own pages, checked October 24, 2026.

The "Not stated on its site" cells mean the current product pages don't mention the feature. The FAQ mentions resumes made on an older version of the website, stored in AI Drive. So some resume tools may exist outside the desktop app. This review only counts what the product pages describe.

How much does Final Round AI cost compared with Prept?

Final Round AI's subscription page, checked October 24, 2026, lists a Monthly plan at $150, a Quarterly plan at $83.33 a month billed quarterly, and a Yearly plan at $25 a month billed annually. Prept's Search plan is $29 a month or $69 a quarter, with a free tier that needs no card.

The Final Round AI subscription page also lists a Premium MAX plan at $41.67 a month billed annually, which adds "Premium AI models" and faster support. The Yearly plan works out to $300 paid up front. The homepage summarizes the paid tier as Pro at "$25+/mo" and says "There is no free trial" for live sessions.

Refund terms differ between Final Round AI's own pages. The subscription page offers a 72-hour money-back guarantee on first-time Quarterly and Yearly purchases. It says "Monthly plans are non-refundable." The Final Round AI FAQ describes a 3-day guarantee that also covers renewals, voided by "at least 2 interview sessions, each lasting strictly more than 30 minutes." Read the refund policy itself before paying.

Prept's pricing page gives Search 7 days free with a card, with nothing charged until day 8. If you haven't used the paid features, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days. Search covers 40 tailored applications, 8 interview hours and 300 postings checked a month.

What does Final Round AI say about being detected?

Final Round AI's homepage describes Stealth Mode as "100% invisible" and "100% undetectable," checked October 24, 2026. Its FAQ is more careful: it says "screen-capture protection is not a guarantee that every platform or monitoring tool cannot detect app use." Both statements are the company's own, and this review did not test either.

The gap between those two lines matters more than any feature. A marketing headline promises certainty, and the support page takes it back. What interviewers can and can't see, with sources, is covered in can interviewers detect AI copilots.

The FAQ also says the desktop app "automatically records session audio during live, phone and practice sessions" and adds that "There is no session-recording on/off control in Settings." The pages checked for this review don't mention asking the interviewer's consent. Recording law varies by place, and how to ask to record your interview gives the words to use.

Do employers allow live AI help like Final Round AI?

The employers that publish a rule say no, unless they tell you otherwise. Anthropic, Greenhouse and Deloitte UK all draw the line at the live interview, on pages checked October 24, 2026. All three invite you to use AI to prepare. Greenhouse and Deloitte UK say breaking the rule can end your candidacy.

Anthropic's guidance on candidates' AI usage says of live interviews: "This is all you" and "no AI assistance unless we indicate otherwise." It invites you to "use Claude to research Anthropic, practice your answers, and prepare questions for us" beforehand. That's the same split Final Round AI's practice mode fits on the allowed side.

Greenhouse's AI guidelines ask candidates to "not use AI to supplement your performance in a live interview unless otherwise instructed or agreed upon." They also ask you to interview "without reading from or referencing AI-produced answers." If Greenhouse detects that without permission, "your candidacy may be disqualified."

Deloitte UK's integrity guidance for early careers says interviews "must be completed without AI assistance," in person or virtual. A breach means "you will be removed from the selection process," and Deloitte "may also report this to your educational institution." More employers are collected in employer policies on AI in interviews.

How is Final Round AI's debrief different from Prept's?

Final Round AI's debrief is written from a session run inside its app, live or practice, and scores how ready you sound. Prept's debrief is written from a real interview you recorded with everyone's consent, after the call. It quotes the moment you lost the room and gives you words to say instead.

The Final Round AI debrief page says the write-up "summarizes what worked, what needs work and what to do next" and feeds the next session's Goal. The homepage image shows five readiness signals: Clarity, Structure, Depth, Signals and Follow-up. For practice runs, that's a reasonable way to track progress.

The difference is what the debrief is reviewing. When the copilot was feeding answers during the live round, the debrief grades a performance that was partly the tool's. A debrief of a round you did alone tells you what you'd do in the next one. If you want to run one by hand, the free 10-minute debrief template works from memory.

When is Final Round AI the better choice?

Pick Final Round AI if you want AI practice interviews tied to a specific job, or if an employer has said AI is allowed in a round. In those two cases its live window and practice scenarios do things Prept doesn't do at all. Prept has no practice mode and no live help.

Anthropic's guidance gives the clearest example of the second case: "You may use Claude for this coding challenge." When the employer says yes, you use the tool in the open, and Stealth Mode stops mattering. Ask the recruiter in writing if a policy isn't published.

For practice alone, check the alternatives too. Prept vs Big Interview and Prept vs Yoodli cover two practice tools with lower prices. Final Round AI alternatives lists more, and Prept vs LockedIn AI covers the closest live-help rival.

When is Prept the better choice?

Pick Prept if your problem is the resume, the application or understanding a round you've already done. It reviews your resume with an ATS score, tailors it to each posting, checks a posting's fit, and debriefs an interview you recorded with consent. It never helps during the call.

Prept's line is analysis after the call, never during it. Before every recording it asks you to confirm that everyone on the call knows they're being recorded, and the audio is deleted once the transcript is written. The free tier includes one interview hour, so you can get your first interview debrief without a card.

If you're weighing whether live help counts as cheating at all, is using AI in a job interview cheating sets out where the line sits. AI interview help that isn't cheating applies it to specific uses, and what happens if you're caught using an AI copilot covers documented outcomes.
