How do the Resume.io and Zety trials work?

Both trials are short paid subscriptions that renew on their own. On October 24, 2026, Resume.io's pricing page offered a 7-day trial for $2.95 that "auto-renews to $29.95 billed every 4 weeks." Zety's pricing page offered a 14-day trial for $1.95 that "auto-renews at $25.95 billed every 4 weeks."

These are the US dollar figures each page displayed that day. Resume.io's billing help page says its plans "can vary by location," and the same pricing page loaded from Canada showed C$3.95, renewing at C$31.95 every 4 weeks. Read the amount on your own checkout page, because that's the one you'll be charged.

The trial gives full access on both sites. Resume.io's FAQ says "The trial has 100% access to all of resume tools, templates, cover letters, and download formats." Zety's Pro Package unlocks PDF and Word downloads, which the free Basic Package doesn't have.

What dates and amounts will you be charged?

For example, take a trial started on November 2, 2026. Resume.io charges $2.95 that day and $29.95 on November 9, 2026, then every 4 weeks. Zety charges $1.95 that day and $25.95 on November 16, 2026, then every 4 weeks. Neither page gives the hour of renewal.

Here is how the first three charges fall in that example, using each pricing page's own amounts and billing cycle:

  1. Resume.io: $2.95 on November 2, 2026; $29.95 on November 9, 2026; $29.95 on December 7, 2026; $29.95 on January 4, 2027.
  2. Zety: $1.95 on November 2, 2026; $25.95 on November 16, 2026; $25.95 on December 14, 2026; $25.95 on January 11, 2027.

Every 4 weeks means 13 renewals a year, one more than a monthly plan would bill. Resume.io's FAQ calls the renewal a \"premium monthly membership,\" but its plan card and billing help page both say every 4 weeks. If you never cancel, the first year comes to $392.30 for the first year on Resume.io ($2.95 plus 13 times $29.95) and $339.30 on Zety ($1.95 plus 13 times $25.95).

Both sites also sell longer plans. Zety's Annual Package is $71.40 paid at once, shown as $5.95 a month, and "Auto-renews each year." Resume.io's pricing page showed a Quarterly plan at $49.95 that "Auto-renews to $49.95 billed every 3 months." Resume.io's premium help page describes six-month and yearly plans as one-time payments that don't renew, so check which plans your checkout offers.

How do you cancel a Resume.io trial?

Resume.io gives two ways to cancel, and one works without logging in. Its cancellation help page says you can cancel from its contact page by searching for your email address, then confirming by email. You can also cancel from Account Settings in the app. Do it at least a day before the renewal date.

These are the steps from Resume.io's own help page:

  1. Without logging in: open the contact page, choose the "Cancel Subscription" tab, search for your account by email, and click the cancel button.
  2. Open the confirmation email Resume.io sends and follow its steps. The cancellation isn't done until you confirm. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam or search your inbox for "resume.io."
  3. Or, in the app: log in, click your profile photo in the upper right corner, choose "Account Settings" near the bottom of the menu, and downgrade at the top of that page.

After you cancel, the help page says you keep premium access "for 30 days from your last monthly payment or 7 days from your last trial payment." Your resumes stay available to download on the free plan, unless you delete the account. The charge appears on your statement as RESUME.IO, according to the billing help page.

How do you cancel a Zety trial?

Zety also gives two ways: through support or on your own. Its contact page says "The easiest way to cancel your subscription is to call our friendly support team or contact them on chat," or you can cancel from the "My Plan" section of your account dashboard. Keep the confirmation email it sends.

These are the steps from Zety's own pages:

  1. On your own: log in and open the "My Plan" section of your account dashboard, or My Settings, and use the online cancel page there.
  2. By phone or chat: the contact page lists 800-985-7561 for the United States, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
  3. Check your inbox. Zety's Terms of Use say it "will send an email with a cancellation number to confirm any cancellation request," and tell you to contact customer service if none arrives.

Zety charges can appear on a statement as Zety.com, BLD*Zety.com or PP*ZETY, according to its contact page. If you see one of those after you thought you had cancelled, contact Zety with your cancellation number.

Can you get a refund from Resume.io or Zety?

The pages disagree with each other, so get any refund promise in writing. Resume.io's pricing page promises a "7-day money back guarantee." Its Terms of Use, last updated May 21, 2026, say "No refunds will be provided for our subscription services," though a supplement for EU residents sets out a trial money-back guarantee.

Zety's Terms of Use say "Provider does not guarantee refunds." The same terms add: "You may request a refund if notice of cancellation of your subscription is provided before the end of the initial period, if the initial period is offered." So the safest move on either site is to cancel inside the trial, not after the first renewal.

Prept's trial also needs a card, so the same care applies. Prept's Search plan is 7 days free, nothing is charged until day 8, and cancelling before then in Settings costs nothing. After that, the plan costs $29 a month or $69 a quarter, with a full refund within 14 days if you haven't used the paid features.

How do Resume.io and Zety compare with Prept, feature by feature?

Resume.io and Zety are resume and cover letter builders with templates and an ATS checker. Prept writes a resume only from facts you confirmed and debriefs real interviews after the call. The table uses the same 11 rows as every Prept comparison. The Resume.io and Zety columns come from their own sites on October 24, 2026.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Zety's Annual Package if you want a template-based resume for a long search, because $71.40 a year is less than three of its 4-week renewals. Pick Resume.io for a one-week sprint, and cancel inside the 7 days. Pick Prept if your resume needs numbers you can defend, or your interviews keep ending in rejections.

For other resume tools, Prept vs Kickresume, Prept vs Enhancv and Prept vs Rezi cover three more builders with their prices. If an ATS score is all you need, Prept vs Jobscan covers the scanner side.

Whatever you pick, put the renewal date in your calendar the day you start a trial. If you reach the interview stage and want to review a round, the free interview debrief template works without any subscription. Start Prept free with no card.
