About

We help you learn from every interview, after the call.

Prept writes resumes only from facts you confirmed, lets you practice answers out loud, and debriefs real interviews once the call has ended. It never helps during one.

What is Prept?

Prept is a job search tool for the parts of a search you can actually improve: the resume you send, the practice before an interview and the review after it. It does three things.

  • Apply. It reads your resume, asks you to confirm the facts in it, and writes each tailored resume only from those confirmed facts. The resume optimizer, job match and LinkedIn optimizer are built on that record.
  • Practice. The Mock room asks interview questions out loud against a clock and checks every answer against your confirmed resume facts.
  • Debrief. After a real interview you recorded with everyone’s consent, Prept transcribes it and writes a debrief: a scorecard, the moments that cost you, quoted, and the words to say instead. How the debrief is scored is public, and so is a sample report.

What does Prept never do?

Prept gives no help during a live interview. It does not listen in and suggest answers, and it shows nothing on screen while the call is running. Our line is analysis after the call, never assistance during it. We think help during the call is cheating, and our guide on AI help that isn’t cheating sets out where we draw that line.

Prept also does not train models on your resume, recordings or debriefs. Recordings are deleted once the transcript is written. The privacy policy sets out what goes to Google’s Gemini models and how to delete any of it.

Why did we build it?

We kept hearing the same complaint from candidates: after an interview there was nothing they could act on, only a short rejection or silence. So the debrief came first. Then users told us they weren’t getting enough interviews, so we built the resume and LinkedIn tools. Then a tester asked why they had to lose an interview to learn from it, so we built the Mock room. The full story is on the blog.

Who builds Prept?

Prept is built by Sarosh Mirza and Raza Mirza. They also write the guides on this site, and each guide names which of them wrote it.

How do we write the guides?

  • Company guides take each interview process from the company’s own careers pages and show the date we checked it. See the company guides.
  • Comparisons quote prices from each tool’s pricing page with the date checked, use the same feature rows every time, open with a disclosure that Prept is a competitor, and say when the other tool is the better pick. See the comparisons.
  • Dates are real. Every guide shows when it was last updated, and we never backdate.
  • Sources are listed at the end of each guide that relies on them.

What does Prept cost?

The free tier needs no card. It includes one of everything: a full resume review, one job posting checked, one application tailored and one interview hour debriefed. Search costs $29 a month or $69 a quarter and starts with 7 days free. See pricing.

How do I reach you?

Email hello@prept.fyi. Real people answer it. If you were interviewed by someone who used Prept and you want a transcript you appear in deleted, write to the same address. We’re also on LinkedIn.
